I'm
Ernie Casbeer and I want to be an effective voice in Austin
for the people of Texas House District 59.
Born
in Central Texas, I grew up in Goldthwaite. I attended public
school and graduated from Goldthwaite High School. I attended
Tarleton State University in Stephenville and hold a BA in
history/government and
a MAT in history from there.
My
wife Catherine (Cat) and I live in Oglesby. We have three daughters
and two grandchildren. We belong to the Zion Lutheran Church
in McGregor. I am active in the Oglesby Lions Club and
Masonic Lodge. I am on the board of directors for Rocket Federal
Credit Union.
For
39 years I have taught government, world history, and economics
at McGregor High School. Teaching is the joy of my life and
has motivated me to enter this race to help save our endangered
public schools, which have served Central Texans so well for
so long.
I
will listen to you, the people of District 59, and do my utmost
to represent your needs in Austin. I ask for your support. Thank
