PROTECT OUR WATER SUPPLY

The fresh water, both surface and underground, must be protected. The Railroad Commission and Texas Commission on Environmental Quality must enforce the Safe Drinking Water Act.

The salt water injection wells must be more rigorously regulated and new regulations must be developed to insure that District 59 and the state does not suffer the damage done by the salt water injection wells of East Texas.

Greater penalties must be enacted to punish the illegal dumping of the truck loads of salt water by the truckers.

Pollution of our water ways caused by the feral hog population must be recognized and greater efforts made and programs enacted to control that population. Besides the pollution caused by these animals, the lost of property and crops is a serious concern to the citizens of the state of Texas.
